Brave Steps…

Who said being brave is easy? Have you ever worked up the nerve to have a conversation with a celebrity? I mean a superstar whose popularity is everywhere and never walks alone.

I can say that it’s not easy starting a conversation with anyone, not to talk about a popular person you admire.

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

Romans 4:20 (NIV)

I dare say that the woman with the issue of blood was a courageous woman who met Jesus through an unconventional approach. She didn’t just walk up to Him because she was star-struck, instead she touched the hem of His garment because she believed her action could heal her.

[25] And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.
[26] She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.

Mark 5:25-26 (NIV)

This woman had faith that couldn’t be shaken by the amount of people who surrounded Jesus. His disciples, the Pharisees, and the crowd who had followed Him across different towns didn’t intimidate her; instead, she was inspired to get results.

[27] When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak,
[28] because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.”

Mark 5:27-28 (NIV)

You must have heard the true saying that “courage isn’t the absence of fear, but the ability to keep going despite that fear”. What actions have you been scared of taking since the year began? Have you taken your time to analyze the outcome of taking them?

The woman in the narration earlier took a brave step that changed the course of her life forever. As the year winds up, I encourage you to take that brave step in your desired direction today. Watch out as things unfold.

“Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because GOD, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.”
