Did you know that as a child of God, you are solely responsible for whatsoever you allow into your life? There are some gateways that you should guard diligently if you want to live a triumphant life.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
In Biology, we were taught as students how important the human heart is to our existence. In your walk with God, it is major too. Your heart is like a plain field that whatever gets planted on it grows. There was a season in Nigeria when depression was the order of the day. Young adults were taking their lives because of this and it was a time of despair.
Everything that flows from the throne of God is good, so depression is definitely not from Him. Take charge of your emotions! Take charge of your feelings! Never allow yourself slide into a negative state of heart, your heart is His’.
Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech.
Negative utterances, demeaning speeches, curse words and statements are bad seeds that should never be given space to be sown. Severally, I’ve heard some mothers use abusive words on their children, while some others even go to the extent of cursing them. I get heartbroken for such families.
How can a mother whose place is golden in her child’s life, curse him everyday over trivial issues?
While growing up as a teenager, my elder sister would always tell me emphatically about not allowing what negative statement anyone says to me settle without objecting it. Why? Because they’re not true!
Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path.
Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.
Don’t get distracted with whatever happens around you. Stay focused on the path God has called you to because what He thinks about you is what really matters. Be excited and enjoy your life, God has empowered you to take the lead!
I’m singing joyful praise to GOD. I’m turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God.
Counting on GOD’s Rule to prevail, I take heart and gain strength. I run like a deer. I feel like I’m king of the mountain!
