Yielded Life!

When ‘life happens’ and situations become tough, it becomes normal for the human mind to get in a frenzy and panic. Still, choices have to be made even in that period, and these choices brings with them a truckload of results.

[28]  And he came to her and said, Hail, O favored one [endued with grace]! The Lord is with you! Blessed (favored of God) are you before all other women!
[29]  But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled and disturbed and confused at what he said and kept revolving in her mind what such a greeting might mean.

When Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary with this sudden salutation, she wondered why He chose to refer to her that way. So she went ahead to ask how she was supposed to conceive while she remained a virgin. Her question was a direct one after which she obeyed and went on with her life like nothing strange just happened.

[38]  Then Mary said, Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to what you have said. And the angel left her.
[39]  And at that time Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country to a town of Judah,

It’s okay to be critical when life throws things at you, but don’t let your critical and analytical thinking get in the way of God’s leading in such times. God speaks to His children and the core criterion for progress is obedience.

What has God been speaking to you about? Have you been listening? Have you been obeying? Or have you been acting based on your logical intuitions, critical calculations and futuristic projections?

We’re able to stretch our hands out and receive what we asked for because we’re doing what he said, doing what pleases him.

The result of obedience to God’s leading and instruction is resting easy in the promises He gives in the word. It’s best to dwell under the covering of obedience than to live with regret. Keep yielding!
