The Guide.

I believe that each night, a good number of sleeping humans across the world share something in common; Dreams.

Dreams can simply be defined as a series of thoughts, visions, or feelings that happen during sleep. They are also avenues through which God communicates with His children. These are called visions.

A few days back, I had a terrible dream concerning some violent thugs who invaded my residence, caused injuries upon all the residents and damages to everyone’s properties.

I was confused if the dream was a spirit led dream or just a nightmare. On awakening, I immediately said “I serve a living God, and no dream is superior to God’s words, therefore no dream can take the place of His Spirit’s leading in me.”

When someone perceives any vision in form of dream, it is imperative that the fellow seeks the Holy Spirit for the meaning and its interpretations so as to avoid destruction. A certain psalm of David is one of the good references of this:

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake

Psalm 23:1-3 (KJV)

God wants us to be led by His Spirit, and is going to use our own spirit to guide us. Therefore, whenever we’re confused or feel misled by anything, endeavor to meditate on the word of God in prayer.

If you have the habit of looking for signs from books or consulting a prophet/ pastor to solve your problems, I advice you to train yourself up in the Word of God, and then tune into your spirit for His voice and obey what you hear immediately. Don’t hesitate! If you do, “common sense” (usually in direct opposition to the Will of God) will definitely talk you out of it.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Romans 8:14 (KJV)

Make God’s word the first priority your spirit instantly responds to, and you will see yourself walking according to His Spirit in even the smallest details of your life – even dreams.
