Recently, I took a walk on my street to get some things for the house. I got to a store that I frequent a lot and I saw two little girls.
They were playing a game and from the expression on their faces, it was obvious they were having fun. And from their act, I could tell they were carrying out things they had seen.
Brethren, together follow my example and observe those who live after the pattern we have set for you.Philippians 3:17 (AMP)
The younger of the two girls had a white piece of paper wrapped neatly around her right wrist, while the older girl held a straw. At intervals, she tapped the younger girl’s wrist with the paper, and innocently asked if she was feeling okay and if she (the older one) should go ahead with injecting her. As amusing as it was, I actually found it sweet.
Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.Philippians 4:9 (AMP)
Seeing this, I had to ask them if their Mother was a Nurse, and they excitedly said yes. They were basically carrying out things their eyes had seen, possibly without even knowing the meaning or full implications of it.
This took my mind to the life early Christians lived. They were named ‘Christians’ because of the kind of exemplary life they lived. A life that projected their Leader, Christ.
And when he had found him, he brought him back to Antioch. For a whole year they assembled together with and were guests of the church and instructed a large number of people; and in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.Acts 11:26 (AMP)
How many of the acts, deeds, and parts of the lifestyle of Christ do you follow daily? How courageous are you to forgo the samples and templates the world has laid down today?
Some of the principles in existence in the world today aren’t for you as a Christian. You should revert to and strictly choose to live by principles laid down by Christ, and the best part is that you don’t need to pay money to access to them. Simply study the word and obey the instructions of the Holy Spirit for every moment.
For even to this were you called [it is inseparable from your vocation]. For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you [His personal] example, so that you should follow in His footsteps.1 Peter 2:21 (AMP)
The true meaning of Christianity has been soiled and tampered with by overtly religious people. It’s time for you to show the world what it really is to be a Christ-like. Don’t just say it, show it. It’s showtime!
