Jealousy, hatred, and envy are three different words that describe similar emotions or feelings. A similarity they share is that they are all negative feelings, and they do the ‘carrier’ more harm than good.
Last week, I shared the story of Daniel and how other governors envied him because of his innate abilities and sharpened qualities. Well, they didn’t just stop there, they decided to conspire against him.
Anyone who claims to live in God’s light and hates a brother or sister is still in the dark.1 John 2:9, 11 (MSG)
But whoever hates is still in the dark, stumbles around in the dark, doesn’t know which end is up, blinded by the darkness.
You be wondering why some people in your life just dislike you for no reason at all. Don’t be scared. It has been in existence for centuries. A handful of patriarchs who went before us have had their fair share of this treatment from other people. Think about Moses, David, Isaac and even our Messiah, Jesus.
But the people of the village did not welcome Jesus because he was on his way to Jerusalem.Luke 9:53-55 (NLT)
When James and John saw this, they said to Jesus, “Lord, should we call down fire from heaven to burn them up?”
But Jesus turned and rebuked them.
To think some people actually refused to be hospitable to the One who came with good tidings remains a shock. I mean, whaaattt!!! If only they knew, I’m sure they would have acted better. That kind of refusal in this contemporary age would have been termed as “Bad Energy”.
In response to this situation, Jesus took a step that might seem too ordinary to the human mind; he left. What do you do in situations where it is obvious your presence isn’t welcomed? Don’t force it!
Do away with bad energy, and surround yourself with people who care genuinely about you. Don’t be bothered about those who don’t just like you for no reason, instead move with and stay focused on the assignment committed into your hands.
If the world hates you, know that it hated Me before it hated you.John 15:18 (AMP)
