Purify Me.

A few days ago while observing my devotion, the Bible passage Proverb 17:3 hinted to me.

Proverb 17:3
The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the Lord tests the hearts(NKJV).

Obviously, from the chemistry course and basic knowledge, I learned gold and silver are raw impurities metals that need to be refined by using the refining pot to melt the silver and heating the gold with fire. When this is done, the impurities of these precious metals will rise to the top, following which, the refiner will skim it off before the gold or silver will be useful.

When I pondered about this, I realized the process of refining raw impurities metals is the same as our heart.

God the great refiner can use the fires of life to expose things that don’t belong to our heart, bringing them to the surface to clear them away.

Your responsibility is to stay in His hand, deal with whatever comes, through calmness and allow the healing balm of His love through forgiveness  (by asking for God’s forgiveness, forgiving yourself and others) to make you new.

How is your heart? Purified?  Or Impure?

Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service(NKJV).

The popular worship melody lyrics for edification.

My body is your sanctuary
My body is your sanctuary
Purify me like gold so I might be bold to say, To say my body is your sanctuary
Purify me like gold so I might be bold to say, To say my body is your sanctuary.

Brethren, please reach out to me in the comments section.
Your feedback is sincerely appreciated, thanks.
