Why Man?

First-principles are important. They establish premise and context. They often predict performance and outcome. We had in the first place, arrived at a few conclusive and imperative statements. We said concerning Man, that he is a created being; that he was created, spirit, soul, and body; that male and female created He them.

This third part is currently a socio-psychological matter in several climes and circles. But it’s not surprising. Because in those same settings, the other two statements have been jettisoned. Remember we are dealing with first principles; any compromise or rejection at that level is always far-reaching.

The matter of gender isn’t a social or a societal assigned construct. It is a creator-assigned construct. And in the day He declared them, He declared only two possibilities: Male or Female.

[4] And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

Matthew 19:4

Even scientifically, the gender of an individual is determined at fertilization (the time when a Sperm meets with an Ova). Males aren’t males because we call them so; they are males, because He that created them, created them so. Regardless of what a female calls herself, she is still only a female.

There was a reason for the creation of man. At a very fundamental level, Man was created simply because it pleased God to do so. But let’s understand that by this, we simply don’t mean to say that Man was created because God was bored and wanted to do something to pass the time or that man was for amusement purposes. Far from it.

On the contrary, it is because, on account of the Enterprise of God, the only kind of being that could play the role he desired was the kind of being that man was. Needless to say that there are other kinds of being.

[11] Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Revelation 4:11

We are in a generation that is seemingly telling the Creator: “You did not make us, we want to make ourselves.”

The problem with this position is that it is unfounded. It is an open display of foolishness, for any time a created being attempts to usurp the creator, the outcome is predicted.

For all the faults of mankind, faults attributed to Sin. Man, in the day he was created, was declared as Good, for in that day he was an object of God’s pleasure. Man’s highest calling, highest compliment, highest report is that He pleases God, for therein he fulfilled the reason for creation.

Of such men, we have Enoch, the 7th from Adam, who had the testimony that he pleased God, for he walked with God.

A pathway has been opened unto all men; it is the pathway of Faith, for without faith, it is impossible to please God.
