Several laws are embedded in Creation, such that in any expression of creation, we can find them at work with predictable and guaranteed outcomes.
The law of sowing and reaping is one such law. But beyond being a law, it is undergirded by a covenant. Thus it also doubles as a system that can be aligned with tremendous results. It can be disobeyed with consequences on different levels. Sadly, it can and has been ignored by so many.
It is worthy of note that, output concerning the kind, can only be influenced at the level of input allotted to it. E.g to reap mango, you sow mango.
The law of sowing and reaping has huge import. It is both a law and a system. Results, therefore, are indicative of the input or lack thereof at a fundamental level. This raises an important point. We must constantly ask ourselves and be clear in our minds as to the kind of input(s) that make for the results we so desire. Desire is not enough. We must go a step further.
We should also note that whilst there are things under the purview of this law, not every outcome is dependent on it or only on it. Most times, an assortment of laws is required. For instance: Wisdom. One of the laws associated with wisdom is the Law of Association.
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
You don’t get wisdom particularly by sowing wisdom. That will be a misuse of law, however well-intentioned. To get wisdom, other laws and systems ought to be engaged.
In his Epistle to the Saints in Galatia, the Apostle Paul touched on something which I think is worthy of attention. Maybe later on I would open upon it by God’s grace. He says:
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
This is very interesting. He said that some have been deceived or perhaps are standing at the threshold of a great deception. A deception firstly that a man can sow and not worry about reaping (as in he won’t reap) and secondly that a man can reap what he did not sow.
Notice, he adds that this kind of deception, isn’t just mere deception but beyond that, it is an exercise that attempts to mock God. Remember we had said that this law is built into Creation and it’s a system undergirded by Covenant. It’s an attempt to be wiser than God. God is not mocked. This circumventive venture will not hold no matter how much we try or flatter ourselves to think that it would.
My dear reader, Sow and you will reap. For better or for worse.
