Months ago, I had to be at the Airport. I wasn’t going to board a flight. Lol! 😁 I had to help close relatives drop items with a friend who was traveling out of the country, to take them there for them.
I had to compress and strategically package the items properly for them to fit into a bag. Have you ever packed a bag and you had so much stuff to put in it? To the extent that you had to sit on it? (This is an exclusive luggage packing code 😉)
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Well, that day I honestly had done my best and didn’t leave any item behind. On getting to the airport, I met the traveler and then he stripped the bag bare of all the items. Slowly, we started selecting each item based on what they weighed. Eventually, the bag followed me back home almost half full.
Deuteronomy 6:5 Love GOD, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!
For every single bag that is packed for a journey, there’s always a point where you think that every item is vital and they all have to go in. So, you throw in this and throw in that; things you need and things you don’t need. Soon, the capacity of the bag won’t take all you want it to, and then even vital items would be left out.
I’ve been in situations where I struggled hard to keep some things, people, and habits that I thought I needed.
What are those excesses in your life that the Holy Spirit has been showing you how unnecessary they are for you?
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Obeying the instructions of the Spirit is key to your destiny or purpose fulfillment in life. Your walk with God can’t be total without you shedding off weights, or letting go of the unnecessary things that may be slowing you down. It’s time to go through the needle’s eye, it is time to scale heights, shed that weight!
