I’ve been a victim of living every day according to the game of time and chance. I honestly was someone you could have described as a ‘Scattered Fellow’, but looking back now, I’ve learned to do better.
The wise and foolish virgins in the Bible were described with those adjectives because of the actions they took. They both indeed took actions but one thing was a key differentiator; the game plan they had!
The silly virgins took lamps, but no extra oil.
The smart virgins took jars of oil to feed their lamps.
There was a goal in the hearts of the wise chaste ladies which was to go in with the bridegroom. They knew what to plan for. I’m sure they didn’t get pop up notifications that He was going to arrive late, still, they planned and got oil to sustain them for the extra time spent. What are the things you want? What are the desires of your heart? What has God told you about years to come? And what have you done about them?
“Is there anyone here who, planning to build a new house, doesn’t first sit down and figure the cost so you’ll know if you can complete it?
In case you understand how vital planning is, what are you going to plan for? It hurts the Father when His children continue to wander around in circles and cluelessness. He desires that you prosper, not only in your health, or your spirit but in every other way.
Ask yourself realistic questions with the help of the Holy Spirit and your inner eyes would open up to areas of life you need to plan for.
Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise!
Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work,
they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.
The ants have a target, they know they can’t afford to starve because it’ll eventually kill them. So, they continuously gather food all through the summer, they understand the seasons and know what they want. Planning for every area of life with the Holy Spirit helps you calculate and walk inaccuracy.
I was once in a period of my life where I needed a phone badly. It became a constant thought that never left my mind daily. Then a certain day came when I told my spiritual mentor that I needed a phone. He asked, “What type do you want?”, and I couldn’t say a word, all I knew was that I wanted a phone! Eventually, I searched for the type I wanted and in a space of one week, I got supernatural provisions to get the exact phone I wanted. Some doors won’t open for you until you strategically have a game plan.
It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way.
In the middle of the hustle and bustle, sit down and draft a plan for your spiritual growth, finance, relationships, health/physical fitness, career and every other area of life, and then harness them to meet a sole goal. Remember, without planning, life becomes an hazard! Tell me, what’s your game plan?
