Sound Planning

Is anything wrong with taking up things just as they come? Besides, there’s a saying that encourages individuals to “take one step at a time”. Right? Well, I never used to believe in planning for any serious reasons. I just didn’t see it to be something that I was made for. Hilarious right? Lol!

I found this simple definition of Planning from the Collins Dictionary:

Planning is the process of deciding in detail how to do something before you actually start to do it.

It’ll amaze you to know that God, the Father plans. He created the world in seven days and then He had a strategic time to rest after each day’s task. He had in mind already to create man in His image and after His likeness. With Him, nothing happens by accident. So how much more you and I, His children?

Jeremiah 29:11
[11] I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out–plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
(MSG)

Planning makes you a wise person because nothing catches you unprepared. Some years before now, I never had an answer to the question “Where do you see yourself in 5years?”. I would have carved out means of avoiding it like a plague. Soon enough I understood what the issue I had was, I didn’t have anything planned out because I didn’t see anything ahead of me.

The coming, life, death and resurrection of Christ had always been in the Father’s blue print for Him, it had already been written. So many great men and women whose stories you read in the Bible planned. Both good and bad people make plans Noah, Moses, Jonah, Joshua, Nehemiah to mention a few had plans.

Luke 14:28
[28] For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
(KJV)

Why should you leave your life in the hands of luck, time or chance?  Some people have opened the door of their lives wide to laziness, nonchalantness, shortsightedness, ignorance, and these factors kill faster than any other thing.

Just in case you’ve been planning like every other person you know. Don’t just plan for the sake of planning, plan soundly and strategically. Why not shut the door to fear of what the future holds and embrace sound planning with the help of the Holy Spirit today?

Psalm 20:4
[4] May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
(NIV)
