The Adventurous Journey

I had an experience sometime ago when I really needed to hear God speak to me about a vital decision needed to be made. I did all I knew I was supposed to do; I prayed. I studied the word. I fasted. I made sure I didn’t miss the gathering of believers.

Hebrews 4:12
[12] For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

My heart was opened and I looked out to hear Him speak to me through His servants, during prayer time or Bible Study. Guess where I received direction from about that issue? Through a devotional message someone shared in a WhatsApp group I belong to.

I then realized that in my mind I had streamlined the medium through which God’s counsel should come. I had a format, I had a template or a form in which He should speak to me.

I totally forgot that God’s Spirit moves in diverse ways, speaks to His children through different ways, if only they listen! The medium through which He speaks doesn’t reduce the quality of His word.

Job 33:14
[14]  For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it.

Do you think God doesn’t have a special word to say to you? Most times, you are too busy to hear Him speak and you don’t spend enough time with Him. How will you hear Him when He speaks to you?

Clear your busy schedule! Give Him top priority on your daily to-do list! Be sensitive to hear Him speak through anything and everything. In everything choose to submit to His commands and promise to only do His will. Only then, will you find ease navigating through this adventurous journey called life.

Jeremiah 33:3
[3] ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’
