When we look at our world today, we find every cause to be alarmed. From the lush greens of the First World countries to the slums of Third world countries, we reach a common conclusion, which is this: Things are out of course. Depending on where you are, this plays out differently but at the heart of it, it’s truly the same thing, for evil, irrespective of its varied expression is still evil.
In times like these, where do find stability, hope, comfort, peace? Certainly not in the coffers of lawmakers, on-air-personalities, or influencers, for everyone talks from the standpoint of their limitation. At some point sooner or later, they all concede that they don’t have the answers or haven’t even gotten the foggiest of ideas as to what the question actually is.
So what do you think?
Hebrews 2:8 For You have put everything in subjection under his feet. Now in putting everything in subjection to man, He left nothing outside [of man’s] control. But at present we do not yet see all things subjected to him [man].
Hebrews 2:9 But we are able to see Jesus, Who was ranked lower than the angels for a little while, crowned with glory and honor because of His having suffered death, in order that by the grace (unmerited favor) of God [to us sinners] He might experience death for every individual person.
As yet we do not see all things in our world subjected to him. Now that doesn’t seem very comforting, but actually, it is, because inherent in that statement is the assurance that He would surely become Lord of all things, having all things subjected to him. In time or eventually.
In the meantime, however, the believer is given a solid ground for his stability. He is able to see Jesus. He is not left to pick his information from the environment, or the opinions of mere men, who on their best day are limited severely.
To bring this home, you might look upon your life, you see contradictions, inconsistencies, grounds that seem yet unconquered by Lordship, despair not. In everything keep your eyes on Jesus, nothing in your life can withstand his advance. Keep your eyes on Jesus, trust, yield yourself to Him, and you will find that as you progress, all things are your life will be subject to him.
Be rest assured, everything has already been but under His feet and our life experiences aren’t going to be alien to his regime of glory. Be comforted.
